Rosh Chodesh
We are proud to offer a social and educational program for our girls in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Using curriculum from a national program, the Rosh Chodesh youth group is based on the Jewish traditions of women’s New Moon Celebrations to build self esteem, Jewish identity, leadership skills, and friendship networks of adolescent girls.
TaSTY
Our senior youth group, TaSTY is open to all high school students (grades 9-12). TaSTY is organized and primarily led by our high school leaders. TaSTY provides opportunities for social networking, leadership development, social action, retreat programs, and experiential Jewish education. High school students are also encouraged to attend weekend kallot and events run by the North American Youth program NFTY. TaSTY belongs to NFTY’s New York region (NFTY-NAR).
College Connections
“College connections” is our group for all college students from Temple Shaaray Tefila. We reach out to our students to provide a connection with Temple Shaaray Tefila when our college students are away from home at school. College Connections provides holiday gift packages and host events, programs and reunion activities during the school and holiday breaks.
Jewish Summer Camp
Next to your personal family connections, Jewish summer camps provide the strongest life-long bond to Jewish life!
Shaaray Tefila provides a 25% summer camp tuition scholarship to our students who attend a URJ camp or participate in a NFTY trip to Israel.
The Reform Movement Camps offer an invaluable opportunity to discover the joys of living Judaism as part of a warm, fun, spirited, and diverse community. URJ Camp Eisner and Crane Lake Camp in the Berkshires provide all the traditional camp programs, experiences and more. Visit their websites: http://necamps.urjcamps.org/. And for our High School Students, NFTY’s Campus for Reform Jewish Teens at URJ’s Kutz Camp offers an opportunity for a teen only environment with options to focus on area of interest and hobbies.
