Jane Fincke Orenstein
Executive Director
Jane Fincke Orenstein assumed the position of executive director in Fall 2011. Jane spent most of her career in the private sector,
specializing in strategic planning, marketing, leasing and development, and
project management for entities including The Rockefeller Group, Foot Locker,
and Ark Restaurants. Longing to “give back” to New York City, Jane joined
the United Way of New York City on September 17, 2001, helping distribute the
hundreds of millions of dollars raised for The September 11th
Fund. In her six years at United
Way, Jane rose to Chief of Staff and Senior Vice
President, Administration.
Heeding
a call to public service in 2008, Jane became Chief of Staff and Deputy
Commissioner for Strategic Planning, Policy and Communications at the NYC
Department of Housing Preservation & Development. Most recently Jane has
been the Director of Global Operations for the Conference of Jewish Material
Claims against Germany
(Claims Conference). In this position she
oversaw the operations of two NYC offices and coordinated the work of six
offices outside the US.
Jane earned her BA in philosophy at
Yale University and her MBA at Harvard
