Youth Choirs

Shaara
y School of Rock is Shaaray Tefila's Junior Choir for children in grades 3-7. Under the direction of Cantor Todd Kipnis, the choir sings at various services and special events throughout the year. All are welcome! Rehearsals are on various Monday evenings from 6:00-6:45 pm throughout the year and include a light supper.
Junior
choir serves a very important purpose. For children who like to
sing and like music, being a part of the junior choir and singing Jewish
music can be very effective in helping to form a strong Jewish identity
and a connection to Judaism in an enjoyable way. Through their
participation, the children become more familiar with the Jewish liturgy
and texts and can improve their Hebrew proficiency and Jewish
knowledge. Not only is it a valuable experience for them, but they are
also making a valuable contribution to the synagogue.
If your child would like to be part of Shaaray School of Rock, please contact Cantor Todd Kipnis at cantortkipnis@tstnyc.org or by phone at 212-535-8008 x261.
