Annual Collection Drives

In addition to our ongoing, year-round food collection for the Yorkville Common Pantry, we hold various other collection drives each year.

Chanukah Soldier Drive: We collect specific items to ship to American Jewish military personnel on active duty to help brighten their Chanukah season.

Holiday Toy Drive: We team up with Second Chance Toys, an organization that rescues and recycles plastic toys and distributes them to disadvantaged children. You can help make a difference in the lives of others, AND the environment, by bringing your gently-used plastic toys to the Temple lobby. Toys must be clean, in good condition, with no small or missing pieces and fully operational, if battery-powered.

Project Cicero Book Drive for Children and Teens: Each February/March, we collect new and used books suitable for children and teens in Grades K-12 to create or supplement libraries in under-resourced public schools throughout New York City. We need picture books, early readers, current reference books, fiction, nonfiction and biographies. (We cannot accept text books, library discards and/or reference books older than five years.)
