Social Action is a Cornerstone of Our Congregation
A synagogue plays many roles in the life of its members and the surrounding community. One of the most compelling of these commitments is that of tikkun olam -- repairing the world -- a fundamental value of Judaism that is an essential part of Shaaray Tefila's mission.
Our Social Action Committee sponsors many ongoing mitzvah projects and volunteer programs, and their descriptions appear in this section of our website.
The Social Action Committee also sponsors special events and programs:
- Lights, Camera, Social Action! Film Series: Praying in Her Own Voice, Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7:00 pm.
- Interfaith Programs such as our annual Breaking Bread & Barriers evening
- Shabbat HaGadol Social Action Guest Speaker
- Annual Clark Memorial Social Action Erev Shabbat
