Our Spring Mitzvah Day Highlights

Over 300 congregants participated in mitzvah projects (including two
weekday options) around Manhattan and at the temple, with volunteers of all
ages – including many MASA families - working together to feed the hungry*;
visit the young and the elderly; make get-well cards for pediatric cardiology
patients in NYC and Israel; knit one-of-a-kind blankets for teens in
residential treatment centers; and work in neighborhood parks.
School of Rock performed at Lott Senior Residence.
(*Volunteers not only served meals at various locations, including a downtown
soup kitchen and New York Common Pantry, but also baked cookies and made
sandwiches for City Harvest at the temple.)
Other sites and agencies included: The Educational Alliance, the Church of
Saint Francis Xavier soup kitchen, Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty,
Kateri Senior Residence, Mount Sinai Hospital, a Women In Need shelter, the Neighborhood
Coalition for Shelter (NCS) Residence
and the Jewish Board of Family and
