Ann Targownik
Director of Development

Appointed ShAnn Targownikaaray Tefila's Director of Development in 2008, Ann previously served as Executive Director of Stephen Wise Free Synagogue, NYC (2005-2008), Executive Director of The Jewish Center of the Hamptons, East Hampton (2000-2005),
and served as President of Temple Israel Reform Congregation of Staten Island (1995-1999).

Ann served on the Union for Reform Judaism Greater New York Council for ten years, active on the Leadership Development Committee. She is a Senior Member of the National Association for Temple Administration (NATA), has written articles for the NATA Journal and served on the NATA Education Think Tank. Ann presented a session on Annual Giving at the URJ Biennial in Toronto in 2009 and served on the Large Congregation Work Group to Study Synagogue Affiliation, a joint effort of URJ, NATA, and RSDP. Ann is Vice President of the Reform Synagogues Development Professionals (RSDP), served as Vice President of NATA's NY Chapter, is a member of MetroASE (Metropolitan Association for Synagogue Executives) and a member of Women in Development.  

Ann is an award-winning architectural and interior designer, with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute School of Architecture, Brooklyn NY.  She and her husband George live on Manhattan's upper east side. They have three adult children, Ari, Joshua, and Ramona, son-in-law Milton, and granddaughter Sydney.
